Longest work

Saturday 1244

If you have been reading my blog since 2009, you would have remember this bead project of mine.

dsc_2544-copy.jpg
Started in November 2009 with the hope to complete by end of that particular year.

Unfortunately, I blog about it again a year later.
dsc_0566_1.JPG
Only 50% done.

And I have not been blogging about it ever since.

Until today.
…because….

I’m SO OVER IT!

I’m done. I’ve completed it. After two years and five months!!!

Boy, I have put new meaning to being a Queen of procrastination. Ha!

Beats me to why didn’t I just get it done straight away. It was only 5% work left when I took this out from my long kept beads tool box.

End result. Finally!

This was supposed to be an easy bead work design. Manik Tabur the expert calls it. You know, just sew the beads in random. But I got too enthusiastic and wanted a much close knit beads design. Bikin sakit belakang!

Still a messy job but never mind, that’s not the whole point anyway. Just to tell the world…I have strike one (of many) overdue projects. Ha!

Pleasant weekend!

Fast Forward Challenge

Friday 1731

Not going well with this blog challenge so far. So many things to skip.

Day 21: A picture of what you wore today - Nay, didn’t feel like taking photo of what i wore.

Day 22: Something you hate about yourself - Can’t squeeze my brain to think of one. Yes, I’m pretty much in love with myself despite the common complaints on fat legs or being queen of dilly-dally.

Day 23: Your top ten pet peeves - One of them, drivers who don’t give signal when turning at a junction or at a roundabout simply because they just too lazy to slightly lift their arm to the signal switch.

Day 24: Someone you would switch lives for a day and why - Oh dear, I’m not being a sport in this challenge but really, I couldn’t get myself to think of one now.

Day 25: Nicknames you have and why you have them.

This, I can tell you as much. Ha!

Chegu Carol is my online name and was first derived from a blogger friend (Zaini Jimmy) back when I have just started with my dot com blog. He’s not been up and about in the blogsphere now. At least, that’s what I know. He used to call me chegu instead of cikgu or carol and I kinda feel fond for that name, chegu. It sticks, as you can see.

For most people who have known me for years (childhood friends, school friends, college friends, colleagues) or at least have known me more than just reading my blog, they call me Kay. It was Care as in care-re-line but some would write it as just ‘K’ and I later made it sound nice by putting it as Kay.

Cynthia, a name only known to most of my family, both paternal and maternal. Simply because, my first cousin who is few years older than me is named Caroline and dad doesn’t want families to confuse his Caroline with his sister’s Caroline. Hence, the name Cynthia, Why they chose Cynthia? Just because.

Sekian.

Sambung lagi challenge yang seterusnya nanti…

Reading Challenge 2012

Sunday 2137

I was just over at Writing From Far’s blog and noticed this widget on her sidebar. Interesting, I thought. Clicked on it and the next thing I know, I am actually a member of this reading community. Ha! Talking about not reading for such a very long time here.

Fresh from reading Kinsella’s I’ve Got Your Number which I finished in less than three days (a record for me after a lonnnnng dormant from reading), and is now currently reading Why Men Don’t Listen & Women Can’t Read Maps, it came to me that this reading challenge is a good thing. Besides challenging myself, it’s one way for me to improve on my vocab and writing style. And, it always feels good to have completed reading a book, especially a good read. You agree?

read-challenge.jpg

I’m giving myself 24 books to complete by December 2012. That means, two books per month starting from now. Not bad, can do. I think. I have some to-read books on my Goodreads shelf and yet to get my hands on them.

A thought by the way.
You read-aholic out there…you think you can swap books with me? You see, it’s not cheap to buy books these days. And I’m not a person who goes to library often. If you reckon this is a good idea, contact me. I’m more than willing to swap books with you albeit not having much of recent reads to offer.

So yeah, all the best to me and you who are on this challenge.

Until next post!
