Remembering China

Tuesday

World news lately are mostly spirit-depressing *sigh*
Myanmar cyclone…
China earthquake…
Mahathir’s out of UMNO…
Aiiiihh….mix story pula. *wink*

You know…as I drove back to Keningau this morning and listening to this news about our former PM quitting UMNO…I thought, maybe Tun is just fed-up with all these ’serious’ matters and they are taking a toll out of him.
You know…like…“Hey, I am no longer PM…why should I be interested in politics. I should quit!”

LOL!
Oukay..oukay…that’s just me thinking.

Seriously, do people like Tun possess simple thoughts.
I mean, like for once, don’t bother about worldly issues…who’s who in the leading party…what’s so and so’s administration design…etc..etc…
In short, do people like Tun, think like the unknown, infamous people do?
To think nothing but to live and survive?

I guess not.

My thinking leads to nothing actually cos as I try to generate such thoughts, they are making my head pounding.
So better not think about it. Ha!

On a different story, my mom is somewhere in China now.
God knows how big China is…
Traveling.
Warned her about the recent earthquake in China and to that, she uttered not a word.
But somehow, deep in my heart, I knew what her answer will be.
“Death is a sure matter.”

Speaking of China…mom has been to China more than the times I’ve climbed mount Kinabalu.
I don’t know what’s with China that keeps her going there.
When asked why.

“China is not a small country.”

“But, they mostly have the same sceneries”

“Not all lah.”

I think, it’s something to do with the fact that her late Chinese father was hailed from the mainland China.
Don’t tell me you are trying to locate your long-lost relatives, mom??
I’ve heard cases where people trying to locate their Chinese relatives in China ended up being ‘robbed’ by their so called new found relatives. So bad!
It would be great if we can do preliminary Background Checks of these relatives prior meeting them face to face. Who knows what kind of people you may end up meeting! In that case, it’s better to do Criminal Checks on them…well, you know. Just in case.

Of course, I am not saying that China people are all like that.
In fact, I believe some of our own local people here are worst than them.
Even the buffalo’s skin is no match to their undefined thick skin.

Anyways, I’ve been to China once, in 1998.
Funded by mom. Ha!
Got the chance to climb Great Wall of China.
But I don’t remember much about my travel to China cos it all went so fast.
That’s what happened when you travel with tour group.
You don’t have the freedom to roam on your own and appreciate the beauty of a foreign land.

^_^

Today at work, someone was trying to persuade me into going to Manila in August.
Traveling temptation is highly bugging at the moment.
Urrgggggh!

PayPal oh PayPal…bila lah ko mau gemuk?

    LOL Nick!

    I bet she is.
You envy her? That makes two of us.
She’s going for vacation again to Spain this coming September.

My mom is an annual traveler since 1989.
She sets in her yearly plan to have at least one vacation a year.
Well, she deserves it…after all the hard work back home.
