Burning the midnight oil

Thursday

Last night, I was supposed to stay up late.
Some assignments to be done and submitted before Friday.
But, I could not continue squeezing juices from my brain cos I was too exhausted from school work, my eyes were so heavy I felt like sticking match sticks to it to let it stay open and my head was having the post head-banging effect.
So, I set my mobile alarm to 0315.
Hoping to wake up way before the proud ayam jantan wakes up the entire neighborhood.
And I did wake up at 0315.
Only to switch off the alarm and got back to sleep until 6 a.m.
Pathetic!

Now, I am in the same situation as last night.
I am actually contemplating to go with the sleep-first-wake-up-early plan again.
But after last night, I better not.

I’ve been drinking two mugs of coffee already but my eyes still want to beg for mercy.

“Please let me ‘close shop’ for just a while, mam”

I can’t.
Need to finish everything by tonight. Or morning.
Must.

Sure got ‘beg mata’ lah the next morning ni.

Never mind.
Just think about tomorrow Carol.

    Well, I know sleep would win when it comes to me. There’s been many times I’ve said, I’ll catch a few hours nap and then wake up and do my work and the next thing I know, it’ll be morning … LOL!

    Don’t force yourself to stay up when you can’t, bad for you health la …

    yes, agree Nick. After last night, I have a really ‘mata pedih’ and can’t even stick my contact lens in this morning. Not mentioning back aches. Lucky no headaches. But boy i slept like a baby after reaching home this afternoon. So the very sleepy.
