Clomiphene Citrate

Thursday 1658

I had another meet up with the doctor yesterday.
Funny how I feel very much ‘in-control’ every time I meet the doctor(s) nowadays.
I mean, I have been having regular reviews, (Read: Average once in every 2 months) since 2006 and by now, I am very confident to be the first to tell the doctor what had happened to me and is happening in my medical reviews every time I meet them.
And in most cases, I’d be seeing different doctors in every review.
Except the first few months of my review lah because I was under specialist care and she needed to look onto me for my health progress.

Why did I say funny?
Well, whenever I start to relay to them my health history, they would look at me as if amazed or something.
I don’t know, I just feel that’s how they feel. Amazed.
What with the medical terms that I learned along the way since 2006, they sure can’t lie to me about my medical condition.

So, yesterday’s review was nothing unusual.
However, I feel this time was the most casual meet I ever have.
No doctor-patient strain.
The lady doctor was more like a friend.
Well, I feel she’s like a friend cos she talked to me as if we’ve known each other already.
Plus, she’s a Sabahan so we had a very ‘friend-friend’ conversation.

“So Caroline, you and husband sudah setuju lah mau buat IUI?” she asked me.

“Urmm, actually, belum ada lagi discussion pasal IUI bcos dari yang previous review, itu doctor cakap mau tunggu itu HSG test punya result,” I explained to her and continued some more.

“Tapi, saya sama husband memang ada discuss, kalau itu HSG result memang ok, kami belum mau IUI lagi. Mau try natural dulu.”

The doctor looked at me, listening.

And I continued.

“Maybe, kalau boleh, saya mau try balik Clomid and kasi increase saja dose dia pigi.. maybe 100mg. Sebab yang dulu, doctor prescribed saya 50mg saja,” I was starting to have that in-control feeling again.

“Ahhh ya…actually boleh juga macam tu. Sebab, kalau ikut umur, masih muda bah kau ni,” she said while flipping my file.

After a few minutes of question and answer session, she excused herself to discuss my suggestion with the Specialist doctor.
She came back with a Yes and I am going to be on Clomid for another two cycles.
Before I went out, she even wished me luck.

By the way, for those who don’t know…Clomiphene Citrate or commonly known as Clomid is a drug used to induce ovulation especially for women who have fertility related problem.

For the next two months, beware of this Chegu cos she probably gets pissed off at you easily!
Well, that’s one of the side effects of taking Clomid.

So yeah, seperti biasa… Chayo-Chayo!

Until next post!
*hugs*

all the best..fyi ( in case you x tau) you can only take clomid 12x in your life time. saya dulu suka suka mau minta even ask hubby get for me coz malas go hospital tau tau tidak boleh suka suka ambil the med. and the aount ada difference juga tu 50 mg and 100mg but I forgot, i am sure you know.ada chance dapat twins tu…hehe

Owh I dont know pula about that 12x thingy. Thanks for the info!
Sia tida pernah pula terfikir mo suka2 minta cos bukan juga Im well verse with the medicine kan. Cuma from what I read and what people told me, I can still ask for increase dosage if the first 50mg dose not successful. Hahaha…bagus juga kalau twins. Haha!

Good luck and betul ckp deana kalau bole jgn telampau pakai clomid. Continue taking your folic acid, jgn stress and pray. That’s the best thing. Good luck. I know you can. About the clomid, after I completed this two cycles and if nothing happened, I will discuss on other alternatives already. But of course I am keeping high hopes for this time to happen. :D
