I am a handicapped without…

Sunday 2156

Hey ho!
How’s your weekend?

Did I tell you that my Gentut is on leave for a week now?
I think I am missing him already and I can’t bear the thought of having him on leave for another week.
Gentut, my car, has been experiencing his ‘time of sickness’.
Just recently, he had his battery changed.

“Eh, battery mau tukar? *sigh*. Normally, berapa lama battery punya life before patut kena ganti ah?”

“Biasa dalam 2 tahun patut tukar sudah lah.”

“Owhhhh…*chuckles* Itu battery belum pernah tukar bah dari ni kereta kena beli.”

“Berapa lama sudah ni kereta?”

“Mau masuk 4 tahun lah ni tahun.”

The technician looked at me, shooting a sarcastic look of “What? You have never checked your battery before?”.
Aren’t the technicians at Proton supposed to check on my battery whenever I send Gentut for its regular services?
Oh wait…I forgot.
I have not been sending Gentut for service at Proton the past two services.
Hence, the oblivion on that part.
My bad.

Gentut’s leave means I had to resolve to bus to transport me back to KK this weekend.
It’s not like I have never ride a bus before.
But after years of not doing so… honestly, I do not feel good.
Firstly, it was tiring and nauseating to ride on a bus compared to driving on my own.
Secondly, I get less time to spend with hubby cos I need to be back in Keningau by Sunday as compared to Monday if I’m driving.
Thirdly and most important, I can’t bring whatever I want when traveling by bus.

You see, my Gentut is like a third home.
Everything is there - my school works, my work shoes, my beadwork tool box, etc.
I just need my Gentut to enable me to feel like I am not commuting between KK and Keningau.
If I need to finish some school thingy during the weekend, I’d just bring them back to KK (I even have a basket just to store books at the bonnet).
If I need to do my laundry during the weekend, I’d be able to do so by just taking the laundry basket along in my car.
If I need to complete a beadwork project, no problem… I’ll just tuck it in at the bonnet.

And if I want to bring anything back from KK (flower pots, clothes, books and even my dog Dino) I’d be happy to do so cos Gentut is there to be in service.
I was at the Gaya Street Sunday Market this morning and I felt so tempted to buy more cactus plant to bring back to Keningau.
Unfortunately, I had to brush that idea aside, until Gentut is back and kickin’.

Can you see how handicapped I am without my Gentut?

If you have a Gentut…I mean car, I’m sure you understand me.

Next Tuesday, Gentut is going for its’ ‘operation’.
It is time for its’ timing belt to be replaced.
I am really hoping to be able to have my hands on Gentut’s steering wheel again by Wednesday.

PS: I met Dena and Faye at the Sunday Market today. How nice!

 Someone at Proton mush have mentioned this thing about battery life whenever I sent my car for servicing before. Maybe I just didn’t pay attention. Padan my muka lah.Lucky, the battery died off at home not at some place God knows where…

Lama juga they need to repair it? 7 hari? Overhauling ka ni?

On the other hand, it taught you to be kind to your car in the future juga bah kan? Some of us take it for granted most of the time. Nasib baik I have someone who’s in-charge of Mercy’s (my car) service timing etc..

Banyak juga guna itu husband .. hehehe :) tapi kadang2 some important dates boleh lupa, tapi car service date boleh ingat… All the cars lagi tu!

I have to wait for the parts to arrive. Biasalah, mau order dulu baru ada.
The parts already arrived last Wednesday but on Thursday and Friday, they got fully booked for servicing. Today, some event going on at the service centre and they cant take appointment. Terpaksalah tomorrow baru dapat send my Gentut.

You don’t take taxi kah? When I worked in Keningau, I never took the bus lah.

I dislike to wait for the taxi to fill up baru can jalan. Sometimes, it take up to an hour before it will jalan. The Tung Ma buses depart on time and almost always reach on time as well.
