Dia malu bah…
Tuesday 0924
I thought, I could do with some surprises for him.
But, I really don’t know how to make things to look surprise.
Initially, I planned to have the makan2 at Fish & Co so that the staffs there can help belt out the Birthday song for hubby.
I saw them did the same to someone before and I quite enjoyed the way they sang the birthday song.
Very entertaining.
But, I just don’t know how to keep this thing a hush and not worried about what he will feel about it.
So, I asked him if it would be oukay to eat at Fish & Co.
His first word, “Why?” suggested he doesn’t like the idea of dining out there.
“So that you can have the people there sing birthday song for you?” I replied.
“Noooooo! I don’t want! Bikin malu!”
Enough said.
No birthday singing in public.
Then, the birthday cake itself.
I didn’t say anything about wanting to have a birthday cake made for him cos I want to be it a surprise (konon lah).
So, when I brought the cake home and was told not to refrigerate it…. I went a little panic.
Where should I ‘hide’ the cake?
I didn’t want to hide it just about anywhere for fear army of ants will come attacking the cake.
Only one place.
My wardrobe!!
Yes, that’s the perfect hideout.
But again, being me, who could not keep a secret remains for a long time… once hubby was home from work, it was only a secret for a mere 5 minutes before I burst out about the cake.
The cake is so beautiful i just couldn’t stand not talking about it bah!
“I ordered a special birthday cake for you. Sia simpan di lemari.”
“What the…!?”
“You don’t peek ah! Nanti ko tinguk when it’s time to cut the cake.”
” ….. “
“The cake is so cantikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, you know”
So, here’s hubby’s birthday cake.
Hubby had it cut at home before going for dinner.
It was short notice from me to request Deana to do it.
Thank you for accepting my order ya Dena

Then, we had birthday boy’s dinner at Manhattan Fish Market at 1Borneo.
I HEART its Mussels in garlic butter sauce.
So sedapppp!
I ate all the six mussels cos hubby and PIL aren’t into seafood much.
ITELISYES! - as in It’s Delicious!
Hubby had baked Corley fish in some kind of herbs and I had baked Dory fish in lemon butter sauce.
Boleh tahan juga lah.
FIL had his favourite baked salmon and shared it with MIL (she had too much food earlier in the day).
We also ordered the Caesar salad and Mushroom fritters for appetizer.
I must say, the butter sauce mussels won my heart.
I would come back, most of all, for the mussels lah. *hee*
So…that’s about hubby’s birthday yesterday.
To Dena,
The Carrot Cheese cake is superb! Even hubby says, it is bagus. The fondant icing is all mine to eat cos the sweet tooth people at home are consciously looking after their sugar level reading. Ha!
Thank you again, Dena. ![]()

Hi chegu..
Once in a while the Hombidai hops around and occasionally ‘singgah’ at your blog. I hope you don’t mind
Nice looking cake and perhaps to taste too (judging by your hubby’s expression :))
I share the same sentiment with your hubby. All my life I’ve never allowed my friends, especially during college days, to sing the ‘forbidden’ song in public places hahaha. I just want them gather around, ramai-ramai, chit-chat, makan-makan and laugh out loud if they want too but NO SINGING OF THE SONG ALLOWED haha… yeah,
i guess, for me and your hubby, it’s really ‘bikin malu bah’…
Hi Hombidai….
It’s my pleasure to have you hop in here. Kalau selalu2 lagi bagus
Ya..i guess, it is something that bikin malu for you guys….(kah jaga macho?) Hehehe…
Bah, do come again.
