“Open up a small business lah. Online business. Make it as your side income.”
A friend told me when I mentioned how I’m liking the idea of taking beadworks order from friends.
In fact, that isn’t the first time I’ve been thinking about opening my own small business.
I have always know that I love crafts work very much.
This passion become more intense after I decided to be my own wedding planner for my wedding.
Husband told me to open up a wedding planner business.
But I hesitate.
Not because I am not up to but I think wedding planner is not really what I wanted to do.
I’m sure every bride who has gone through the wedding planning all by herself will have the same thought as me; I can be a wedding planner!
However, I realized, half of the thoughts are merely clouded by the excitement of planning the wedding.
So, I decided to look for something else.
Something that I REALLY want to do.
Something that won’t fade away as the time goes by.
And I’m still searching (although I have a few in mind).
But, if I really want to venture into online business, do I need to take small business loans?
Honestly, I don’t really know how to make about business loan.
The only loan I have now is Hire Purchase loan for my Gentut.
So, to even talk about small business financing? I don’t really know where to start.
At first, I thought ‘Unsecured loan’ would mean, the loan is not safe.
But now, I know it means, I don’t need to give up any of my assets to be the collateral for my loan.
Back to my question, do I need a small business loan to open up a small online business?
Those of you who are already in this online business thingy, please enlighten me.

The same thought has been going through my mind for the past few years, but more frequently for the past few months… I seriously want to start my own business, working my butt off and reaping all the fruit of my labour, instead of just helping someone else getting richer and richer by working and running the company operation for them! Geez! LOL
But, I’m facing the same problem like you… nda tau mau buat bisnes apa.. haiya! So, I’m hoping to learn something from the feedback that you’ll get from this.. I can only start small, on the side, as I need my job until the business really flourish …

hey… anybody can do business ba.. u can do wedding card design online… but owning a business is not easy as you see ppl.. TIME CONSUMING oo… even online business is hard… been there done that… in virtual world also hard as the real world.. both giving me headache.. but PATIENCE and VIRTUE.. you can own your own EMPIRE.. (not promoting my cyber name ahh) hehe… and be ready for any HARDSHIP!.. ANY BUSINESS CAN BE DONE ba.. so melbie Gud luck and hopefully you can make it even to you Carol..!

haha.. yes carol.. u can make ur product yg mmg the IN THING for now flow.. and can sustain at least 5 years.. and of course… TIME MUST BE PERFECT… buat research kalau ada org lain buat mcm ko ka teda… There’s few online for malaysian PPL.. like lelong, ebay.com.my or mudah.. bukan senang carol since u having ur day job.. it need full commitment… r u ready for it..??

i like the idea of starting small business. i don’t know why there is no entrepreneur group here in sabah. But i found so many program in semenajung. Even i am invited, i have no money to get there anyway. There is a kadazan dusun chamber of commerce in dongongan. But so far, it is not that active. I wish they voice up a bit. Organize Sabahan business seminar or just organize dinner so i can met some fellow sabahan to be my mentor.
