of HDR and sunset

Tuesday

By now, most of you have already know that I own an SLR camera.
I’ve posted some of my pictures taken using the SLR before.
But.
I’ve never really been TOO serious about getting my photography skills buffed to perfection.
I am one that like to take pictures just for the fun of it.
If it’s good…it’s good.
If it’s not, the Delete button is there to be functioned.
I’m more like a WYSIWYG kind of person.
I want the thing that I captured in picture turns out as good as what I viewed with the naked eyes.
I don’t fancy editing that much actually.
Although, I am aware that most of the beautiful pictures found in magazines were 99.99% touched up.

Anyways, the picture above was taken while I was on my way back to KK from Keningau on Monday evening.
It was around 6pm and I saw this magnificent view up from the hills and just can’t ignore the feeling to capture that moment.
I was planning to wait a lil’ longer until the sun really sets down.
However, fear crept in as the place where I made my stop is not really near to ‘civilization’. LOL!
And..I wouldn’t want to drive in the dark.

Perhaps next time.
When I’m traveling with hubby.

But for the 2nd picture above…it has been edited by dearest hubby using Photomatix.
This is an HDR photo…the HDR stands for High Dynamic Range.
For you who are as photography-terms blind as me…you can read details about HDR here.

My personal opinion…I think HDR can really help enhances almost every detail in a picture.
It also helps to create a different new perspective of the same picture.
If done properly that is.
Just like below.

It looks so surreal, right?
You can view many HDR photos on the net especially on Flickr.

I still dunno how to do that HDR thingy by the way.
If I am to open a photo shop one day, I might leave the editing and processing in the hands of other experts.
LOL!

the 3rd picture looks a lil bit too sharp for my taste. maybe tone down on the sharpness might make it look more better..
anyway i do my editing on nero. so far so good. i wanna try photoshop one day.. one day la.. dont know when.

Hehe..u think thats too sharp? Try check some of these HDR pictures. Some of them are too sharp, they look like canvas paintings or picture from another dimension. LOL!
Actually, thats wat I told hubby about HDR when he 1st introduced to me, it looks like the picture has been excessively edited that it differs from the original pix. But, thats wat HDR is all about. It creates a wide range of dynamics in the picture. You can also check out this Flickr photostream of a Sabahan staying in Perth.
