If you are on vacation…

Monday 2258

…Please buy me a fridge magnet.

I have just started collecting fridge magnet from around the world.
Via friends that is.
I first bought fridge magnet as souvenir when I was on my Bangkok vacation.
But it never occurred to me to collect them until I saw a post by Cindy on her Vietnam fridge magnets given by her cousin.
From then on, I make it a point that even if I couldn’t go to these countries, at least I’d be able to have a feel of the place by having fridge magnet souvenirs from friends who have been there.
But of course, having this collection habit, I need to have thick skin lah, asking for friends to buy at least one fridge magnet from the country that they are visiting.

A friend of mine, Chris Tan, is an avid traveler due to his work commitment.
When he went to Indonesia for work, I requested for a fridge magnet and told him that I have just started collecting fridge magnets.
Seconds after telling him that, he was offering to get as many fridge magnets as he can, either from himself or from his friends.
Whoaaa…it was like, getting a chicken drumstick when you only requested for chicken wing.
I am currently waiting anxiously for his return this time.
I can smell a few more fridge magnets for me. *fingers crossed*

These are some of my few fridge magnet collection given by friends.

And yesterday…
I have added two more places to my fridge magnet collection.

dsc_2996-copy.jpg
Bali and Sydney!
They are from Mimi.
I so like them!!
Thanks once again Mi.

So yeah…do buy me a fridge magnet if you are thinking of getting a souvenir for me while you are on vacation.
It’ll be more than great to have one especially if the fridge magnet is uniquely the place you are visiting.

As for the countries that I have visited myself, besides buying fridge magnets, I also keep their currency for collection.
Just as a remembrance for myself that these are places that I have set foot on.
Too bad I couldn’t find the Hong Kong dollar bill (when it hasn’t been claimed by China yet) and China’s Renmimbi when I visited the countries more than 10 years ago.

So, what’s your collection?

Until next post!
*hugs*

I collect fridge magnet too but not based on countries now but rather based on the cute little cartoon characters that I normally buy from Kids Avenue…this started when Ethan came along hee…before that I collect unique photo frames and unique home decor stuff which are all kept in the boxes for now ;p

unique photo frames is something different. i think if you have placed them nicely on a shelves or somthing, i’d be enjoying myself looking at them when im at ur house :)
