Too Nice, Not Good.

This is actually a post that has been in my draft for almost two weeks.
Exactly on the day I went to the Fun Fair.
Since I had lots of fun that day, I kind of forgot about this irritating story.
But I’ll post this anyway.
Just a reminder to myself, I shall never give face to these people again.
Remember my post about calls from those private/unfamiliar numbers.
Apparently, I received another unfamiliar numbers again on Nov 1st.
The number bears the local code ‘03′ of which I am aware is from KL area.
I was torn in between ‘answer or not answer’ because I was actually waiting for a call from KL (PTPTN).
Since, the call from PTPTN is an important one, I just threw the dice and hope it was from PTPTN.
But it wasn’t.
It was a sales call from the Credit Card Discount Service Center (or so he claimed).
I have this weakness…
When someone from the other side of the phone talked to me politely, I tend to give them space and layan them.
So yeah…the guy was kind enough to introduce himself and asked if I have the time to listen to him.
Since he was polite enough to ask, I thought, “Oukay, why not? I can always say no if I don’t want any of his offerings.”
He went about 15 minutes of speed talking before he finally cleared up the catch behind the many benefits he was telling me about this discount service offer, and how I was a very lucky person to be picked in the 5000 lucky people that day.
“So, if I want this credit card discount service, what’s the fee or anything that I should pay?” knowing there must be something that I have to pay in order to get the service.
He mumbled so many things before finally said, “Kak, in order for you to enjoy this service, you are exempted from the annual fees..and what more interesting, you are exempted from the fees for life which normally cost up to RM5000. In order for you to enjoy it, Kak, you only need to pay RM488 TODAY to be able to enjoy this service. You can pay via your credit card….bla..bla…” (notice, how much he had to say before revealing the RM488)
The moment he said that I MUST pay the amount that day and without giving me time to reconsider… I know what I should say to him.
“Sorry lah, I have to say no. I don’t want it.”
“Why ah? This is a very good offer..bla..bla…”
“No lah… I just don’t want it.”
“But, why don’t you want it? Tell me…is it because the offer not good? Or you just dont want to pay?”
“I dont want to pay.”
“Kak…nothing comes free these days. Every time you want to go out, you have to spend your money.Nothing is FOC…bla..bla..bla”
At that point, I was already offended.
Who is he to talk about money with me when clearly it is my RIGHT to decline if I don’t want business with them?
“Yes, I know. But like I said, I don’t want it. I am not ready to pay that amount.”
“Kak, if you don’t want…you should have just say no from the beginning. Instead, you WASTED my time talking and lead me on thinking you will accept this offer…bla..bla…bla”
What!!??
“Eiii…excuuuuse me SIR! I was just being nice to you oukay. You want my time, I give you my time. It is my choice lah if I want it or not. My decision!”
To that…he kept blabbering and scolding me for god knows what.
He didn’t seem want to stop.
So, I stopped him.
By cutting off the line.
Ha!
Serves him right.
Oh well, sometimes….being too nice is not good after all.
There goes my No To Unknown/Unfamiliar Numbers policy.

Ya when ah? By next Monday I start cuti already.

I hate people like that. They call and ask for a few minutes and you give it to them and then when you don’t buy what crap they’re selling, they scold you pulak. I wouldn’t have given him a few ‘choice’ words before hanging up … LOL!
Yalah…i dont mind so much when he said things about nothing is free…but more angry when he said i have WASTED his time. Apalah these people…

I was just here reading from the “meeting with Kadusmama” till the most current one.. “Just around the corner”.. oh so I thought lah… mana tau you tengah typing with two new postings.
Okay enough that.. now back to the call. Kesian juga kau ya. Nasib bukan saya. If saya dah kena slam dunk for good.. but of coz after scolding him for good dulu.
No need be polite to this kind of ppl. Call me if need assistance.. hahahaha.

I too really don’t like those kind of calls. It happened to me also last time. The guy kept questioning me why I dont want to take the so called once in a life time chance. The guy also warned that, even I dont take it now, in near future visa and master card will make it compulsory for they card holder to pay for that amazing card what so ever. When I heard that instantly I know this guy talk BS. Then I replied, if visa and master card dare to do that, I’m going to terminate my accounts. Bye bye…hahahaha

Haha…itu lagilah full of craps.
He thought he could fool you by saying BS things like that.

u know carol, this people always call me too..i mean the discount card people..dulu got one time sia malas sudah mau jawap, masa tu orang baru intrduce himself and the purpose of his call, dengan bangganya i lashed him and told him i already know what he wants and i have to pay for that..so i said, don’t waste my time..terus tu orang tutp phone..hahahhahaha!! puas hati sia dapat marah!!
Itulah bah tu…patut sia just straight away ckp tidak interested bah.
BUT.
Like i said, sia pnya weakness is when people talk politely to me, i tend to give way.
Itulah tu kunun kasi chance lah dia cakap…nanti i can just say im not interested.
Tapi sekali tu, dia pi marah lagi sia. Kurengs betul!

hmmn chegu, maybe u can do wat i normally do wen I don kno who is d caller especially wen they say they r from Credit Card of bla bla bla….just say “sorry, I’m not interested” trus hang up
Ya, u’re right mamaJ. From now on that’s what im gonna do…ndak mau lagi layan.
