12 Months Project:Shoe Rack

Friday 1615

So, you have already heard about this home improvement project I talked about in my previous entry. Well, I named this project as my Twelve Months Home Improvement project.

What is it about?

Basically, it’s a re-furnishing project that I will do on the old furniture at home on monthly basis. And for the month of January, I was actually putting on three things to do. Unfortunately, I only completed one.

At least, I did something eh?

The finished project?
Here it is.

BEFORE
jan_shoe rack (1)

AFTER
jan_shoe rack (4)

I bought two units of 4-tiers wooden shoe racks and sprayed them white. Talking about white, that is part of my target in this monthly project. By December, I hope our upper living room will look more comfy and spacious with this splash of whites around.

The cost?

Two units of 4-tier wooden shoe racks (can be found at Sin Lee, Karamunsing) at MYR109/unit.
Seven cans of white acrylic spray paint at MYR7.90/each.
Pink place mats at MYR3.90/each (I bought 3 pieces)

TOTAL COST : MYR285

I think, this is cheaper than buying a unit that is already painted white. For those who have experience buying white painted furniture, you know how expensive a furniture can be just because it is painted in white color compared to ones in plain .

Well, of course I did not calculate the labor work that my dearest Husband had to endure in order to assemble the shoe racks. The shoe rack isn’t an Ikea and so, quality control was quite out of the question. I was glad he didn’t complain much in that TWO hours of fixing my shoe racks.

So yeah, January project… done!

Till next post!
*hugs*
