Housewife’s specialty
Monday
I do know how to cook.
Simple and easy dishes lah that (almost) every housewife knows.
You know, dishes like sauté vegetable, ayam masak kicap, honey fried chicken, omelette and so on.
Today, I am in the mood to share with you a dish that was taught by my husband when I first moved into my parents in-law’s house. Hubby assured me that this is the simplest dish that saves time and energy when you don’t feel like cooking much. Indeed it is.
Chicken Stew.
Sounds familiar? I know.
Anyways, I’ll just gonna share what’s been taught to me. If you have a variation of this dish, please don’t mind to share here. After all, sharing is caring
Ingredients (for 2 pax)
* 6 pieces of chicken wings cut into half.
* 2 onions cut into 4
* 1 carrot (diced medium size)
* 2 potatoes (diced medium size)
* Oyster sauce (of your liking)
* 5 cloves garlic (4 cloves pounded, 1 clove chopped)
* 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine (optional)
* 1 tsp corn starch
* 2 tbsp cooking oil
* 2 pinches of salt
* MSG for seasoning (optional)
* pepper for seasoning
* I would omit the last three ingredients if I’m using Maggie Seasoning.
How-To:
Marinate the chicken with oyster sauce, rice wine, corn starch, salt, msg and pepper. Leave for 15 minutes.
Heat the wok. Once heated, pour in cooking oil and sauté the chopped garlic till golden brown. Then, pour in the marinated chicken wings. Stir till lightly browned.
Low down the fire. Pour the rest of the ingredients. Leave to cook for 40 minutes to 1 hour.
Stir occasionally.
The thing about cooking this dish, while waiting for the chicken to be cooked, I can do other things like cooking rice or get a quick shower. Or even type a draft for this post! Ha!
After 40 minutes….
Voila!

Easy pizza, yeah?
Like I said, if you have any variation of this dish, do share it here.
Till next post!
*hugs*

as long as its end with ’stew’, I think its an easy dish cause the worse thing that could happened is you put everything in at one go and just leave it for at least one hour. everything is cooked and edible, haha.
